| The GallCommTV
Group is to set up facilities in the Republic of Ireland. The announcement came during a
night of celebrations in Gaston's Restaurant in Peterborough involving
crews and staff on the occasion of the CEO's 62nd Birthday.
Breaking the news, GallCommTV Group Chief
Executive Officer Vinny Gallagher said "the proposal to open the
Irish office has been on the agenda for some considerable time. Final arrangements are now
complete and the Irish company is at last set up and ready to roll"
On the subject of staffing the Irish
operation he went on to explain " Recruiting of staff is on-going locally.
However key personnel will, especially in the production and acquisition areas,
be headed by staff from our UK Group. |
 |
This will ensure continuity of standards on which
our clients have come to rely. Initially some
freelance crewing may be hired locally on occasions, but overseen by one of our
own staff." See the
TV
Concepts website
GallCommirl page for more info
The GallCommTV
(Ireland) offices are located in Bray, County Wicklow. Just 15 miles from
Dublin City centre, and 10 minutes drive from the Ferry port in Dunlaoire.
Wicklow is well known as "the garden of Ireland" and the home of Bray's
Internationally renowned
Ardmore Studios. Famous the world over for
many Oscar winning productions including ...
The Blue Max; My left foot;

during the past 6
months, - and is now in the final stage of it's development. Overall management

and
News-Crews2007; catering for their specific sections of our
industry.
This restructuring will streamline our operations and result in even greater
efficiency and cost-effectiveness which will benefit our clients even further!
Watch this page for further news and the Group structure in more detail.
21 Feb. 2007 DVD update
Work has been suspended on the Streetboarding DVD due to pressure
of work on other projects. "Funding has always been a problem with this project"
says Vinny Gallagher our Director of Operations...
"Right from the start the
project was a big drain on our production division budget. With no funds
available from the other participants, and with crewing and equipment costs
provided from our own funds, including catering costs of the full production
crew for the four days in the SK8 park, plus the overnight editing of the day's
rushes in preparation for press packs etc, we incurred quite a substantial 'bill
of costs' on this project. Then there's the cost of the Inverness shoot to add
to the spreadsheet, ... it doesn't make for good reading!"
He goes on to say ....
"Coupled with this, there's the matter of our cash sponsorship of the USA's
Brinton Gunderson's appearance, (though I feel that was money well spent as
Brinton delighted us all with his antic's, and especially his ascending to
the rafters in his attempt to take home the "Best Trick" trophy).
Due to the
fact that we have no real guarantee of a profitable return on investment in the
near future, we have decided to put this project 'on hold' until we have more
free time to devote to finishing this project. Right now our priority has
to be to our regular revenue generating clients, and with our expanding client
base, not to mention the newly formed
TV Concepts incorporating
WTNews.tv and
News-Crews.tv we are set for a
very busy and exciting few months ahead to be sure!"
As to the situation regarding the completion of the
DVD.. it is still an on-going project, and considering the amount of work,
man-hours, equipment, tape stock/editing etc. that has been borne to-date, we
are very anxious to complete this venture and see it to it's profitable end.
We'll keep you posted on developments. email production @
tvconcepts.eu if you have any queries on this subject

Issued 22 Nov 2006
Streetboard
Championship
The Streetboard Championship held at the
wonderful
Y2SK8 Park
in Peterborough over the three days 17th 18th 19th Nov. was
a great success, with amazing displays of riding from the worlds greatest
exponents of the sport.
The competition opened with the warm-up sessions taking place right through
Thursday, allowing the competitors ample time to get familiar with the various
ramps etc. that the venue has to offer.
UPDATE ... Unfortunately
this excellent facility is now closed .. resulting in a great loss
to the young riders of Peterborough and the surrounding areas

Competition proper got under way Friday
morning with the 'mini-ramp' qualifiers, followed by the 'Street' qualifiers in
the afternoon. As there were fewer entrants for the 'VERT',
it was decided to run that event straight through on Saturday. Also on Saturday were the finals of
the STREET; MINI-RAMP; and the competition finale was the very exciting
BEST
TRICK.
Winner of the Mini-Ramp was
Germany's champion rider Max
Maier. with a routine that was more of a
blur - and kept our cameramen in a spin
The 'Street' competition was won by
Britain's
Max Anderson.
19 year old winner of the last
two UK Championships!
The 'VERT' was won by
Spain's well renowned
Gabi Munoz
who later shocked everyone with an attempt at an amazing double
back-flip during the BEST TRICK
section of the competition. Gabi almost pulled it off, but crashed
out spectacularly. Luckily without any real lasting injury except for a smashed
Streetboard.
Best Trick was won by the
GallComm. TV
sponsored Brinton
Gunderson. Arguably USA's top rider, and
five times world champion.
A judges special award was given to Japan's
Yuichi Miyazaki
who delighted everyone as he competed dressed in full Samurai
attire .. complete with sword!!
GallComm.TV
covered the event using a four
camera setup, with a further camera in our mini studio
(set up adjacent to the main building) for reports and interviews with
riders and other VIPs.
see the photos
During the three days we provided edited
footage and highlights of the days event for broadcasters on Beta SP and
DVCAM, and provided footage to the BBC for Children -in - Need, for inclusion in
their broadcast on
Fri evening.
