 The production crew in Inverness

Production crew take a break on the slopesA GallCommTV crew  traveled to the Snowy Highlands of Scotland on Sat  20th Jan 2006 to capture extra footage required for the completion of the forth-coming Streetboarding DVD.
During the four days in Inverness they shot interviews with Highland Streetboards Neil Thomson and recorded some footage of Neil demonstrating basic board moves.
The last two days were spent on the slopes of the famous Nevis Range, filming Neil snowboarding and recording pieces to camera demonstrating the similarities between Snowboarding & Streetboarding. Click the link to visit a wonderful site.
Finally, after a grueling few days shooting the crew were treated to some time on the slopes with hired boards etc. compliments of GallCommTV, and expert tuition from Neil who,- amongst his other attributes, - is a fully accredited Snowboarding Instructor.

Neil Thomson interview on the Ski slope, Ben Nevis

Neil Thomson doing one of his "There are many close similarities between Street & Snowboarding" pieces to camera. That's Ben Nevis in the background. The crew reportedly didn't like the cold too much whilst actual filming, nor it seems did our batteries. "I'm fed up carrying so many of these blooming batteries around!" a certain assistant producer and Sound Recordist was often heard to declare.

Getting all the equipment up the slopes was quite a job, but we are very grateful to the management, and the staff at the Nevis Center for all their help with the task (especially the Snow-Cat driver!) A visit to this wonderful mountain range is well worth the effort. Visit www.nevisrange.co.uk,  have a look around and experience the whole breathtaking vista for your self. The staff there will stop at nothing to ensure you have the most outstanding experience ever!

Funny thing? ... how soon the crew miraculously recovered their strength in time to enjoy the snowboarding lessons from Neil at the end of the shoot!?

Inverness crew were ...  Cameras; Keith and Jim Grant ; Assistant Producer/Sound Recordist; Craig Simmonds MIBS.
Executive Producer in overall charge of the shoot was GallCommTV Group CEO Vinny Gallagher

The whole crew wish to express their grateful thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Thomson for looking after them so well at the Thomson home for the duration of their stay in Inverness. 't was a home-from home.  Go raibh maith aguit agus failte ro-ath.
